Harkály House
A new, state-of-the-art visitor and education centre has been created in Mátrafüred.
An interactive exhibition on the wildlife of the Mátra, The Harkály House is connected to a trail leading to Sás-lake, which can be visited independently or with a guided tour at a prearranged time.

Gyöngyös-Mátra Museum
The Mátra Museum is currently housed in the Orczy Castle, where exhibitions on local history, hunting history and paleontology are held.
The only preserved mammoth skeleton in its entirety in Hungary can be seen here. "Bruno" was found in 1949 in Mátraderecske.
Natural history exhibition in the pavilion presents the flora and fauna of the Mátra, but also, for example, live tropical animals and plants can be seen in the palm house.

Minerals House
mineral collecting tour
Near Gyöngyösoroszi there is a private collection of almost 4000 minerals, unique in Hungary.
Interactive games, thematic exhibitions, mining and geological relics await visitors.
Mineral collecting tours guided by a geologist are organised every month from April to October.
