Three village church
Upper Mátra had no church until the late 1930s.
Church of three village Upper Matra did not have a church until the end of the 1930s. According to legend, a civil conflict broke out between the three villages concerned (Ötházhuta, Felsőhuta and Fiskalitáshuta), the villagers could not agree on which village to build their common church in, so the building was erected in the geometric centre of the three villages.
