Ágasvár
Medium hike, about 5 km.
The castle, built after the Tartar invasion, was probably destroyed during the Turkish occupation.
Only the name of the castle survives today. From the 789 m high peak, there is a beautiful view to the north of Bátonyterenye, the Maconkai reservoir and the Karancs-Medves.
In clear weather, you can even see as far as the High Tatras.
The tourist chalet below the peak preserves the romantic atmosphere of the mountain lodges. Here you can take a break and have a bite to eat in the buffet of the tourist house before reaching the summit of Ágasvár on the very intensively climbing blue ∆ sign. Open only on weekends.
On the way you will find Newton's Rock, Donkey's Rock, Turkish Footprint, Rattling Gorge, Rattling Brook.
